Inyo County Community Reads, now in its 10th year, celebrates and promotes literacy and community through reading. This year’s program focuses on the theme of Kindness. In addition to the community events listed below, the Inyo County Superintendent of Schools office is sponsoring events in county schools and providing classroom sets of books for schools throughout the county.

Community Dinner – Fri. 3/9 – 4:30-8pm – Tri-County Fairgrounds
A fun and free community dinner with art projects, raffle/book giveaways, and an opportunity to get to know some of the organizations doing good work in our community! Enjoy dinner and entertainment while you learn about how you can help make positive change in our community! Get your ticket in advance at ICA to reserve your spot.
Ralph Lazo of Manzanar: Kindness Personified – Tues, 3/13 – 6pm – Inyo County Free Library, Bishop Branch
Rocio Gomez, Latino Heritage Intern at the Manzanar National
Historic Site, will present a talk about Ralph Lazo, a Mexican Irish
American teenager who voluntarily joined his Japanese American friends and classmates in the Manzanar Camp.
Gallery Show: Love, Flowers, and Kindness – Through 4/13 – ICA*
The ICA Gallery features works by Eastern Sierra artists exploring the theme of flowers, love, and kindness.
