ART JOURNEY PROGRAM
The Inyo County Art journey Program provides a sequential, interactive K-5th grade education in art history and artistic skills, allowing teachers and volunteer art guides to address a significant part of the California Arts Standards.
Each session begins with a “Gallery Visit,” where students view several renowned artworks based on a theme. Students observe differences and similarities, analyze, interpret, and respond to the artwork. They develop artistic skills through hands-on activities using a variety of media and techniques. Students respond to, and express, their creative ideas based on the artwork theme and lesson.
Art Guide volunteers are parents or other family members, retired teachers, and community volunteers. No prior art experience is needed. All materials and training are provided.
