ICA Programs

The ICA Gallery, located at 137 S. Main St. in Bishop features rotating exhibits of works by local artists. All ICA member artists are welcome to submit pieces to our shows. View our gallery schedule HERE for upcoming shows.ICA Concert in the Park

ICA presents concerts throughout the year in our theater space, and in community spaces including the Bishop City Park during the Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Show. We also present visiting musicians in schools throughout Inyo County.

ICA publishes a newsletter that reaches over 1,100 subscribers, and includes not only ICA events and reminders, but also announcements about artistic and cultural events across the Eastern Sierra.  If you would like to submit an event or announcement for inclusion in our email, please contact us. (Please limit submissions to artistic and cultural events in the Eastern Sierra, and include, if possible, a poster or graphic for the event.)

School Arts Programs

School Arts are a key component of our organization. We are proud to offer visual and performing art enrichment programs to all Inyo County students. This partnership combines the education of our children with the talents and resources of our community’s artists and performers. Our programs offer standards-based curriculum so students don’t just learn art appreciation, but also the language, techniques, motivation, and discipline to become successful and confident artists and creative members of society.

The Millpond Music Festival is a three day multi-cultural and multi-genre music festival that takes place at the Millpond County Park just outside of Bishop in September each year.  2018 marks the 27th anniversary of this Eastern Sierra tradition – which features kids’ activities, local art vendors, educational workshops, and a variety of food vendors, on top of the stellar performances by musical acts from around the world.

Memorial Day and Labor Day Arts and Crafts Festivals

ICA presents the Labor Day and Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Shows in the Bishop City Park each year.  The Labor Day show runs concurrently with the Tri-County Fair and features approximately 40 artists. The Memorial Day show, running during Bishop’s famous “Mule Days” celebration, features over 100 artists, food vendors, and a program of free live music from 11am to 6 pm on Sunday.

Banff Film Festival

Each year in March ICA presents the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour to Bishop for two nights. The festival features exhilarating and provocative films that explore life in the mountains, highlight remote cultures, follow intense expeditions into exotic landscapes, and bring adrenaline-packed action sports into sharp focus.

Community Reads

In collaboration with the Inyo County Superintendent of Schools Office, ICA produces the annual Community Reads program which encourages literacy and community involvement though a series of events centering on the theme of a different book each year.  Community Reads will be marking its 10th year in 2018.
