June 5, 2020

Dear Millpond Music Festival Attendees,

It was with a heavy heart we inform you that on Wednesday, June 3rd, the Board of Directors and staff made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Millpond Music Festival.

Following the Governor’s stay at home orders, events such as ours are not allowable until Stage 4 of the order. Currently, we can only move into Stage 4 when there is a therapeutic or vaccine. We held off as long as was reasonable to still allow time to plan and prepare for the festival hoping that the situation would change. We have no indication that Stage 4 is in our
near future.

We are grateful to all of you that have supported us for our first 28 years and we can’t wait to talk to all of you next April 1st. Millpond 2021 will be held on September 17-19, 2021.

We are thinking about trying to put together a virtual gathering of some kind, but right now we are maneuvering our many other programs, with an eye on still providing arts programming for the students and our communities. We know now more than ever that art enriches lives, creates a language that connects all people, and celebrates diverse cultures and
historical heritages.

In the meantime, please follow us on www.inyo.org or on Instagram or Facebook. We’ve been trying to highlight artists from
previous festivals who are doing some really great virtual programming.

Until we meet again, stay safe and thank you all for your support!
