Inyo Council for the Arts hosts three arts and craft shows every year. Artists, crafters and art lovers converge at Bishop City Park each Labor Day and Memorial Day, and at the Millpond Music Festival in September. ICA also hosts a weekly arts and crafts show during the summer that runs in conjunction with the Farmers Market.
On Memorial Day weekend, Bishop is host to the tradition of Mule Days, where more than 30,000 people come watch 700 mules compete in 181 events. It’s a celebration not to be missed! Memories of a good old-fashioned country fair can be revisited at the Bishop Tri-County Fair over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The Millpond Music Festival features an opportunity for mostly local artisans to display their wares. Each year around 6 food vendors feed the crowd of around 1,500 festival-goers. Around 25 vendors sell everything from henna tattoos and hula hoops, to photography and jewelry, to massages and musical instruments. The festival is held every year at the Millpond county park north of Bishop.
